When ART & CommUNITY join forces!

Food from the HeART was formed in pARTnership with FORD + SHEP, HeARToscope, and the Pitt County Arts Council, with a journey that began in 2021.

With food insecurities present in our underserved communities, we wanted to find a way to do our part in addressing this need. The Food from the HeART refrigerator serves as a public art display as well a way for students to access FRESH, and PERISHABLE foods!

The first Food from the HeART installation happened at South Greenville Elementary School in May 2023! 

A special thank you to local artist Paula J. Jordan-Mayo for creating the amazing design for the fridge and the ECU Health Foundation for funding the initial project. FORD + SHEP owner, Brandon Qualls and his wife continue to keep the fridge fully stocked every week!! 

We look forward to serving more schools soon!
